ASP.NET is a part of the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET framework. One can code ASP.NET applications in most .NET compatible languages including VB.NET, C#, and Java, commonly known as web forms are compiled and stored on the web server for providing better performance.
Web forms give us the flexibly to build powerful forms-based pages. While building web forms based website pages you can use ASP.NET server controls to create common user interface (UI) elements and code them for accomplishing common tasks. These feature rich web controls allow you to build your web forms rapidly and make it usable as custom components.
Why ASP.NET
The Microsoft platform with ASP and ASP.NET is a platform of choice for several top level business and technical decision makers for several reasons.

- Faster web applications: Compiled code and caching make ASP.Net really fast. Earlier, the code was interpreted into ‘machine language’ when your website visitor viewed your page. With ASP.Net, the code is compiled before your visitor even visits your site.
- Memory leak and crash protection: ASP.Net automatically retrieves from memory leaks and errors thus ensuring that your website is always available to visitors.
- Multiple Language Support: ASP.Net allows programmers to write their code in several .Net languages (including VB.Net, C#). Hence, programmers can develop sites/Application in a language they know best.
Why Symbian
Symbian OS is an operating system installed in some smartphones. With such a phone can write e-mails, store pictures etc. However the most important thing is that Symbian OS is an open platfom meaning that you can download an SDK and write your own software for such phones.
The native language for Symbian OS is C++ (the Symbian OS phones supports Java J2ME MIDP and there are some tools to support other languages but C++ gives you access to more phone functionality. Most of the software that comes with the phone is written in C++).
Symbian OS contains features you could except from an operating system (e.g. a file system, drivers for Bluetooth, IrDA etc.) but it does not contain a User Interface (UI). Only some basic UI libraries are standard among all Symbian OS phones. Other libraries depend on the type of the device. There are several Symbian OS platforms which provides a UI library, some other usefull libraries and some standard applications. An application that uses features (e.g. the UI) from one platform will need to be ported to run on another one. However it is said that in a typical application 80% of the code is platform-independent.

As Database we use SQL Server 2005 with its advance features like reporting services, replication, integration services & analysis services. We connect to varied vendor databases which are in Postgres SQL, My SQL, Sybase etc. |
